About Columbus Rise

Hi, my name is Janeiro Blackmon and I am the founder of Columbus Rise. I am a business owner in the heart of Columbus. I created this special directory because local businesses are awesome and I always want to do my part to help them continue to thrive and grow. A big part of that is continuously getting exposure that is affordable and sustainable. On the other side of things, everybody loves a good deal! My wife is an avid coupon cutter and I have witnessed the power of deals in action. I personally have went out of my way to try out restaurants, home services, local attractions, and other services strictly off the strength of a good deal. The problem that I have found is that many of the deals that you find, really hit the business owner hard and takes a lot of money out of these businesses pockets, so I figured there had to be a better way.

The mission for Columbus Rise is two-fold:

1. To provide a platform to help small business owners continuously attract the attention they deserve by rewarding the local community with savings, deals and discounts in a sustainable way.

2. To provide a platform for savvy Ohioans to find local businesses to support and get rewarded with savings, deals & discounts in the process.

We also offer awesome marketing services and will be launching Digital Deals and the  Columbus Rise Direct Mailer, which provides small business owners an opportunity to reach out to communities around their business to share products, services and deals to ultimately grow their business.

You have probably been in this situation… A friend tells you about a great business they went to or used, you try to find it and it is no longer in business… or maybe you were the one that told the friend about the business and how great it was but you find out they had to close their doors due to lack of consistent revenue. Either way, its a bad look!
